Did you know .... In Ventura County, more than 200 people die each year from opioid overdoses Or that one in five teens report having abused prescription drugs? Or that over half those teens get the drugs free from friends or family?
Help us address the opioid crisis in our community!
Volunteers needed for a new Oxnard program called Seniors Tackling the Opioid Problem (STOP).
- Learn about the crisis
- Host monthly education sessions in Oxnard's senior centers
- Tell the public how to protect their prescription medicines
- Teach seniors how to talk to their grandchildren
- Assist with drug take backs
- Provide naloxone to those qualified
- Free training provided
- Must be 55+

Oxnard RSVP's mission is to enrich the lives of people age 55 and over by building a bridge to meaningful volunteer opportunities that use their time and talent in significant service to the community.
Description
RSVP helps answer unmet community needs by matching mature volunteers (ages 55+) with non-profit and public agencies. All work is voluntary and based on the individual's desire to serve.
