We are looking for individuals as well as volunteer groups to help with our weekly food distribution that takes place on Saturday morning. This opportunity would consist of setting up and tearing down our pantry as well as restocking the pantry during operating hours. Our food distribution goes from 9:30am-11:30am, however volunteers are asked to get here at 8:30am to help set up. Volunteers help our clients go through the food pantry by telling them how much of each item they can take. Volunteers can also help clients take their food to the car. If you are part of a larger group, please contact me as soon as possible to book your group for a particular day.

Description

The Salvation Army in Elgin's Social Service Department services people in the Elgin area and surrounding communities. Some of our programs consist of our Home Goods Pantry and our Food Pantry. We also have an emergency utility and rental assistance program.
