On the second Wednesday of each month, Shepherd’s Center volunteers help pick up, sort, and organize hygiene products collected by Giving the Basics. We also utilize volunteers to deliver the products to home-bound older adults in the community. These products help our clients maintain good health and dignity. Having these products may be the difference in visiting with a neighbor or friend or staying inside alone. This is a great opportunity for a group event (6 or fewer), or for individuals.
Volunteers are needed for:
- Unloading items at Shepherd’s Center
- Organizing and sorting items by size
- Filling orders by client and preference
- Be willing to commit 1-2.5 hours (depending on size of group or individual assignment)
- Be a team player
- Able to lift about 10 pounds
- Be friendly and caring
- Delivery Volunteers: have personal vehicle or transportation
- Delivery Volunteers: Pass a background check
