The Adventures in Learning program supports adults who want to continue growing, engage in the community and make new friends. The program is volunteer driven and meets 40 Fridays per year, in 10-week sessions at rented space from the Central United Methodist Church, 5144 Oak St. Kansas City, MO, 64112. Each Friday there are multiple classes, activities, speakers and volunteer opportunities to attend.
In order for our guest speakers to share their presentations, we often have PowerPoints, computers, speakers, microphones and/or projectors to set up. The Technology Volunteer is an invaluable part of our high quality programming. - Arriving on time in order to set up
- Starting the laptop and connecting it to the projector or TV monitor when needed
- Connecting different flash drives and/or adaptors
- Meeting with guest speakers to help them get acquainted with technology they’ll use
- Assisting guest speakers with any additional technology set up
This position operates in pairs, two technology volunteers are on hand each Friday between 8:30am and 1:30pm. An ideal candidate for this position will:
- Be familiar with general laptop and computer (PC/MacBook) functions, including HDMI and USB ports
