ORGANIZATION: Miami Valley Military History Museum


Responsible for managing systems and associated databases of information and images for the permanent artifact collection, general library, and technical and field manuals section. Enters data and provides reports as required.

  • Must have strong planning and organizational skills; be a good problem-solver; and have the ability to communicate with and resolve competing demands from multiple constituents;
  • Strong communications skills including written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

We’re an all volunteer force made up of 90% Vets, all Branches, Vietnam to current. We foster a relaxed environment where volunteers feel useful, needed & respected. We’re located on the ground of the Dayton VA; we’re NOT part of the VA. We are our own 501(c)3 non profit charitable corporation. We work with you schedule; we do need regular day and time commitment no matter how many/how few days and hours per week you want to give.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to perpetuate the memory of the Veterans of our Armed Forces past, present and future, to establish a permanent military history museum as a repository for preserving artifacts and research materials, and to foster Patriotism and respect for our Veterans and the Armed Forces.

Description

We opened in January 2007 In 2017 we became our own 501(c)3 non profit charitable organization. WE HAVE MOVED INTO FAIRBORN OHIO AT 4 E. MAIN ST., FAIRBORN, OH 45324

We have more than 130 uniforms of all types and hundreds of other artifacts on display. We are arranged in chronological order, making it easy for visitors to self tour displays that cover the Revolutionary War to present. All branches of the Armed Forces are represented, including the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marine. Relics from the opposing side in each conflict are also displayed. Highlights of our artifacts include the Medal of Honor, pieces of the USS Maine and USS Arizona, and pieces of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the United Flight 93 crash site.
