April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and according to Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, one in five women and one in sixteen men are sexually assaulted while in college.
During the month of April, businesses in Columbia and Montour counties will show their support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month by having teal ribbons painted on their window. The Women's Center, Inc. is looking for volunteers to help us "Paint the Town Teal"!

The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc., provides direct services for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, prevention activities, advocacy, and leadership to the community, aimed at eradicating domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Description
The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc., provides services to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, including, 24 hour hotline, emergency shelter for battered women and their children, medical advocacy, individual and group counseling, and emotional and practical support. The Women's Center of Columbia/Montour, Inc., also provides advocacy and accompaniment to police, hospital, legal appointments, court, and social service agencies.
