Foster homes needed for cats & kittens! For Animals, Inc. is looking for reliable volunteers to foster cats and kittens in their homes in Queens and Brooklyn, NY, USA, especially in the neighborhoods around Astoria, Queens and Park Slope, Brooklyn. We need people who can foster and socialize kittens or give a temporary home to an adult cat who is shy, needs to recover from an illness, or who just doesn't do well in a shelter environment.

Fostering saves lives. The more foster homes we have, the more friendly cats and kittens we can get off the street. Trap-Neuter-Return resources are widely accessible and actively utilized by community members in all five boroughs. the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals and the humane treatment of every animal are core values upheld by all citizens of the city. adopting companion animals from no-kill shelters is considered the norm among current and prospective pet owners. public-intake shelters no longer euthanize healthy or treatable animals for want of funds or living space. no companion animal is ever born into, nor abandoned to, homelessness for any reason.

Description

For Animals is dedicated to eliminating companion animal homelessness, engaging our larger community as vital and active participants in this shared social and ethical responsibility, and providing that community with the resources and education necessary to achieve these goals together.

  • The time to foster is variable depending on how much time the cat/kitten needs to become ready for adoption, and how long it takes to find an adopter. We ask people to commit to at least 6 weeks.
