Foster homes needed! For Animals, Inc. is looking for reliable volunteers to foster cats and kittens in their homes in Brooklyn or Queens, NY, especially in the neighborhoods around Park Slope. We need people who can foster and socialize kittens or give a temporary home to an adult cat who is shy, needs to recover from an illness, or who just doesn't do well in a shelter environment. We can provide a starter kit of basic supplies (litter box, etc.)
Fostering saves lives. The more foster homes we have, the more friendly cats and kittens we can get off the street. Fostering is a great way to get feline companionship if you love cats, but cannot make a long-term commitment to adopt one.
We have a Facebook support page for our foster parents, and we are always available to answer questions. We will ask you to provide a bio, photos, and videos to help us promote your foster kitty. We will also ask that you do meet & greets with potential adopters whose applications have been approved. Many potential adopters want to meet the cat/kittens in person, but given the situation with covid-19, it is up to you if you are willing to allow in-person meet & greets or if you only allow virtual meet & greets.
For more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and put "Interested in Fostering" in the subject.

The vision of For Animals is a New York City metropolitan area in which: the everyday decisions and actions of society at large reflect and promote all animals’ right to a safe and healthy life. Trap-Neuter-Return resources are widely accessible and actively utilized by community members in all five boroughs. the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals and the humane treatment of every animal are core values upheld by all citizens of the city. adopting companion animals from no-kill shelters is considered the norm among current and prospective pet owners. public-intake shelters no longer euthanize healthy or treatable animals for want of funds or living space. no companion animal is ever born into, nor abandoned to, homelessness for any reason.
For Animals is dedicated to eliminating companion animal homelessness, engaging our larger community as vital and active participants in this shared social and ethical responsibility, and providing that community with the resources and education necessary to achieve these goals together.
