  • Polk RAD (Recovery After Disaster) is a coalition of nonprofits, faith-based and government organizations who are currently (2019) assisting Hurricane Irma survivors in Polk who are still in need of assistance.
  • Polk RAD is seeking community leaders (retirees welcome) to serve on their Volunteer Resource group.
  • The role of this group, is to bring together community members who have knowledge and experience in such fields as: Volunteer Management, Youth Group/ Organization Leaders, Employee Volunteer Team Leaders, Church Disaster Relief Volunteer team Leaders, AmeriCorps Group Leaders/Alumns, Campground Operators, and College/ University Housing staff
  • The group generates plans for recruiting volunteer group assistance, to assist with work that needs to be done to aid Case Managers in helping their clients recover from storm damages. Polk RAD and its outreach of supplies and services to assist case managers in helping serve Hurricane Irma Survivors. They will also help volunteer groups to find donated space for their work group to stay while they are volunteering in Polk and assist them in finding other resources that will enable them to complete work projects and thank them for their service.
