- Assist Volunteer Center Staff with preparations for hurricane season.
- Earn FEMA Disaster Management Incident Command Certifications
- Make follow-up calls with community nonprofit partners to confirm their need for volunteers should a disaster/storm be approaching.
- Assist with agency partner meetings in educating community partners about disaster prep.
- Staff community exhibits and Hurricane expos about disaster response/recovery volunteering
- Should be experienced in using MS Office products.
- Help inventory & refresh Disaster Go Kits if needed materials and supplies.
- Interface with Polk County Emergency Management staff, local Long Term Recovery Group Leaders and other community, faith-based and government organizations.
- Assignment days and hours are flexible with your class schedule.
