Striving to overcome leadership, resource, training, and opportunity gaps for women in dance in Los Angeles, MashUp Contemporary Dance Company utilizes performances, events, workshops, training, discussions, and more to uplift female-identifying artists and build community through dance.

Description

MashUp is rooted in the belief that all voices should have an opportunity to be heard in order to create a more vibrant, just, and empathetic region and world. Democratically led by a 4-women Creative Council rather than solo artistic director, MashUp's programs, which include the annual International Women's Day Dance Festival, provide LA audiences with opportunities to experience thought-provoking dance works from diverse women artists, unite people from many walks of life through women-led dance, facilitate dialogue on relevant societal issues, especially pertaining to gender, and provide paid work, resources, and training for 100+ women dance professionals each year.
