Gallery Volunteers aid gallery staff by providing support through monitoring the galleries. Gallery Volunteers are ambassadors for the galleries, welcome visitors to the galleries, and oversee the protocol for the safety of the artwork and visitors. Gallery Monitor Volunteers will:
- Greet and welcome visitors to the exhibitions.
- Provide information about VisArts including mission statement, brief history, exhibitions, artist(s) information, upcoming events, Gallery Guides on site, public tours, workshops, etc.
- Provide information about the location of different departments, contact information for gallery and event staff, bathrooms and parking when asked.
- Reminding visitors of the gallery rules:
- No food or drink in the galleries.
- Do not touch the artwork.
- Report any damage to artwork immediately to gallery staff.
- Report any instance of theft immediately to gallery staff.
- Direct visitors to gallery staff for more information when needed.
- Maintaining gallery cleanliness
- Sweeping and dusting, as needed.
- Light cleaning of windows, as needed.
- Letting staff know of gallery needs (light bulb out, projection out of position, etc.)

Description
VisArts participates in many community activities in an effort to raise the visibility of the arts and encourage people to participate in arts activities. We work with other Town Center businesses on many of their events throughout the year; we collaborate with our local library by offering demonstrations by our resident artists in their facility and we bring art activities to community festivals and celebrations.
VisArts hosts many free community activities in conjunction with our gallery shows and exhibitions. This past year we held several family friendly events as part of our celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year, Mardi Gras and Winter Solstice. VisArts is committed to continuing these free events as part of our mission to engaging the community in the arts.

- Ideally, it would be great to have volunteers commit 4 hours per month. However, it is a flexible volunteer opportunity.
- We are looking for volunteers with availability during our week-day hours of 12-4 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 12-8 pm on Fridays.
