Ronald Visits the Family Room

The Ronald McDonald Family Room is expanding to include a "Happy Wheels" Hospitality Cart to serve families seeking treatment in the UK Pediatrics Specialty Clinic. Volunteers will staff the cart and distribute snacks, drinks, simple activities while being a calm and positive presence. Currently, the Happy Wheels Cart is operating on Wednesdays from 10am-1pm, but we do anticipate additional days being added in the fall.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older and are asked to sign up for at least two three-hour shifts per month for 6 consecutive months.

The Happy Wheels Hospitality Cart is a partnership between Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass and the Kentucky Children's Hospital. All volunteers must go through the process of becoming a volunteer through KCH, which includes an orientation, background check, drug screen and TB test. The next orientation is on September 28, 2019.
