School Group is actively seeking dedicated Social Media Content Creator volunteer to be an active member of our marketing team, helping to drive engagement across a variety of platforms and channels. You’ll have a chance to pitch ideas, create original content for the web and social media, and contribute to the production of outreach materials for School Group. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience in writing, research, project coordination, and social media management.

Responsibilities

• Get to know the organization from the inside out to unearth the ideas and stories that matter to the community

• Participate in the planning, production, scheduling, and publishing of social media and web content

• Write, edit, and proofread copy as assigned

• Conduct industry research and competitive analysis, and provide actionable advice for increasing online engagement

• Audit social media accounts for messaging consistency and performance

• Assist with capturing and analyzing social media metrics

• Field social media comments and inquiries

• Provide administrative support, which may include digital file-keeping; transcribing interviews; maintaining lists and spreadsheets; sorting, tagging, and indexing photos or video footage; and other tasks as needed.

• Capture photos and stories from the School Group community.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Minimum two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus.

• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

• Outgoing and comfortable with people.

• Passion for the mission and values.

• Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.

• Ability to develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Public Relations, Marketing Strategy, Planning, and Networking a plus.

This is a dedicated volunteer position and is great for someone seeking mentorship and growth in the nonprofit sector.
