Experience the history of Princess Anne County and Virginia Beach! Virginia Beach History Museum are seeking volunteers to assist with public programs and events. Volunteers may be asked to assist museum staff with logistical aspects of event management including: event set-up; event break down; parking attendant; moving of tables, chairs, tents etc; assisting guests with an activity; providing information to guests.
Past events at Virginia Beach History Museums have included an Ice Cream Festival, Halloween Spooktacular, African American Music Festival, a recreation of the Burr-Hamilton duel and more!
Volunteers must be able to take direction and work as part of a team. Some duties may require lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying items, bending, kneeling, or standing for long periods of time. Must be flexible, have a positive attitude, and willingness to learn information about the event to better assist guests. Volunteers are expected to be able to work independently on assigned tasks.
Many events take place outdoors.

The Virginia Beach History Museums serve as educational resources for the community and as stewards of historic buildings and museum collections in the City of Virginia Beach.
Description
The Virginia Beach History Museums include the Francis Land House (FLH), the Thoroughgood House (TH), the Lynnhaven House (LH), and the Princess Anne County Training School/Union Kempsville High School Museum (UK). They are part of the City of Virginia Beach Department of Museums, which also operates the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center.
As part of the municipal government of the City of Virginia Beach, the Department of Museums provides educational services to citizens and visitors, works to conserve the natural environment and preserve our historic treasures, and engages the community in these efforts.
