Do you like working with children? Did you love summer break from school? Do you want to make sure children have the best summer possible?
NVFS SERVE Family Emergency Shelter is looking for volunteers to make fun summer experiences for children staying in the shelter. Staying in a shelter can be stressful, and can also get boring for children, especially on summer break. Volunteers will play an instrumental role and making sure children have a fun and memorable summer through a day camp at the shelter.
Volunteers will assist in planning and implementing activities for children ages 4-12. Activities can be games, sports, STEM, arts and crafts, singing/ dancing, or anything fun! The camp will be Monday through Friday from 9am to 12pm and will run from June to August.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer independently or 16 with a parent. Must be comfortable working with children of a range of ages with diverse backgrounds.
This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in Social Work, Education, or the Nonprofit Sector.
