Hospice Patients and their families love their volunteers, ordinary people serving in extraordinary ways. Hospice in this country began as a volunteer movement and volunteers are still very much at the heart of what we do. After half a century of hospice care in the U.S., volunteers are STILL the heart of hospice. Help us make history for the next fifty years by serving as a hospice volunteer:
- Companionship or socialization for patients who have few - or no - visitors;
- Engagement for patients with memory or cognitive loss;
- Music, art or crafts with patients;
- Giving hospice families a break;
- Errands or homemaking;
- Certified Pet Therapy (Restrictions and Additional Requirements Apply)
- Special projects with care home residents;
- Assist with patient / family contacts;
- Help with hospice office / administrative tasks;
- Use your own unique talents and interests to support patient / family care.
