Position: Community Outreach Coordinator
Organization: The Chrysalis Program
Location: Chicago, IL (Chicagoland Area, but remote tasks are available)
Time Commitment: Flexible, approximately 1-4 Hours per Week
Position Overview:
The Chrysalis Program is seeking a passionate and community-oriented individual to fill the role of Community Outreach Coordinator. This dynamic position involves connecting with resources, opportunities, and businesses across the city of Chicago to enhance the support network for parents and students involved in our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Resource Identification:
- Research and identify free resources and opportunities available for parents and students across Chicago.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive database of community resources.
Community Partnership Development:
- Connect with local businesses to explore mutually beneficial relationships.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with businesses that align with our mission and values.
Networking:
- Attend community events, forums, and meetings to build a strong network of allies and collaborators.
- Represent The Chrysalis Program in various community settings.
Collaboration with Educational Institutions:
- Establish connections with schools, colleges, and educational institutions to enhance educational support for our participants.
- Explore opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives.
Engagement with Local Organizations:
- Identify and collaborate with local organizations that share our mission.
- Coordinate joint events, workshops, or activities to benefit the community.
Communication and Promotion:
- Effectively communicate the mission and impact of The Chrysalis Program to potential partners.
- Promote community engagement opportunities through various channels.
Qualifications:
- Passion for community outreach and creating positive impact.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Resourcefulness in identifying opportunities and solutions.
- Familiarity with the Chicago community and its resources.

The Chrysalis Program seeks to reduce or eliminate the effects of childhood trauma for African American girls and their families on Chicago's South Side and beyond.
The Chrysalis Program creates safe spaces for girls to heal, learn and grow by offering Wellness Workshops, Counseling, Life Skill Classes, Creative Arts Lessons, Parent Classes, Enrichment Field Trips, Mentorship and Community Events.
The Chrysalis Program is unique because it takes a holistic approach to empowering; teaching both life skills and coping skills that gradually improves the quality of life for participants and their families.
