If you are looking for a way to spend time with seniors in your community, consider becoming a mobile library volunteer at The Villas at Sunny Acres! This is a new program, aimed at getting our more reclusive residents some community interaction as well as some good reading material. :) As a mobile library volunteer, you would choose your own schedule (Monday-Sunday, anytime between 9am-8pm works for this position!), come to the center and get the cart that is loaded up with a variety of library books, then take the cart around to the rooms. This is a great position for individuals, couples, or families with children. Not only do you get to share good books with seniors, but the mobile library cart also opens the door to friendly conversation! In order to volunteer in this position, you need to complete an ONLINE application, orientation and background check (background check only needed for volunteers 18+). We make it easy to get involved with our organization, and are happy to work with your busy schedule! We have no minimum volunteer commitment-- you tell us when you'd like to come in, and we'll expect to see you at that time.
