Did you know that 67% of nursing home residents don't get any visitors??? Imagine how lonely that could be on a birthday, with no one and nothing to mark the day you were born! Well, we would like to change that with our Birthday Bag donation program. If you would like to make a difference in a senior's life, but can't commit time each week, we invite you to be part of our Birthday Bag program! For this position, you create any number of birthday bags that you wish. Stuff small gift bags with any combination of the following items: chap stick, roll-on perfume or cologne, lotion, store-packaged candies, dried fruits, or nuts, small packs of tissues, magazines, word finds, or anything else you think a senior would appreciate! The only restriction is that every food item in the Birthday Bag must be store-bought and store-packaged (health regulations). The cost per bag will usually be under $10. You can drop these bags off anytime, Monday-Sunday. If you would like to participate, please drop a line and let me know-- I will provide the contact name and drop-off information for you.
