When you volunteer you give back to your community in more ways than you can imagine! St Louis County's Kathy J Weinman Shelter has openings for volunteers who are passionate about helping women and children who have experienced domestic violence. We are currently in need of Domestic Violence Advocates to support families coming into shelter. The Advocate position is ideal for counseling students looking for practicum and/or internship opportunities

Kathy J. Weinman Shelters Mission is: To offer safe shelter and support service to promote the healing of women and their children suffering the trauma of intimate partner violence
Description
The Kathy J. Weinman Shelter is a 40 bed facility, with the capacity to house up to 41 women and children at a time! We serve the community through offering safe and confidential shelter to its residents as well as an array of supportive services. The Kathy J. Weinman Shelter is operated under the auspises of St. Louis County's Department of Human Services, Division of Women and Children.
