Organizing & Cataloging collections

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 3 people are interested

We have numerous collections of material (mostly documents and photos) that require a detailed eye to organize, catalog, and file. As an ongoing process, this task may include identifying, alphabetizing, or otherwise organizing new and established collections; ensuring accuracy and proper placement of items, as well as possibly creating indexes for certain collections where applicable.

Often a basic task that just takes some time and attention, this is a great way to peruse our materials while helping us make sure they are more accessible to the public.

Though not required, the ultimate goal is to ensure our archival catalog software is up to date and accurate. Basic computer skills are necessary in this particular step if interested, though not needed to help with other portions of the process.

Great project for teenagers and up.

Currently, this is a Monday evening project within the hours of 6pm to 9pm, but options to expand to other times are possible if interested.
