ECS 2020 Gala Announcement for Volunteer Match
posted on 3-9-20
Volunteer Opportunity for Youth & Adults: ECS 2020 Gala, "Sunset Soiree: Making Miracles at Water’s Edge"
Saturday, May 2: Set-up (mid-day), 3:30-9pm, or Clean-up (9pm+)
Coasterra on Harbor Island, San Diego
Support the important work of ECS with great people in a beautiful setting against the backdrop of the San Diego skyline by volunteering at the annual ECS Gala. Volunteers are key to the success of this event. Roles include set-up; helping with greeting, registration, the auction, and more during the gala; and clean-up. Volunteers will receive one free ticket to the gala after party!
The majority of volunteers are needed from 3:30-9pm. A few are also needed earlier in the day for set-up and during the after party beginning at 9pm. All volunteers should plan to participate in an orientation during April. Consider inviting a friend or family member to join you for a night of service...and the after-party!
All proceeds will benefit programs at ECS that address child development, homelessness, mental health, and substance use disorders in San Diego.
How to Sign-up:
Please complete the Event Volunteer Application - the last one on the page - on our website: https://www.ecscalifornia.org/volunteer, and contact Deann at 619-228-2840 or drios@ecscalifornia.org with any questions. You can learn more about the work of ECS at www.ecscalifornia.org.
We hope you will be able to join our volunteer team for this special evening!

Description
Originally founded in 1927 to provide social welfare programs for "those who might otherwise be forgotten," Episcopal Community Services (ECS) expanded its scope in 1954 to provide programs to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all San Diegans. ECS was incorporated in 1955 and obtained its first government contract with San Diego County to provide counseling and jobs for men released from prison. Today, ECS provides more than $34 million in health and human services in the areas of homelessness, mental health, substance use disorder treatment and early childhood education to more than 7,000 clients in San Diego.
