Miracle Miles for Kids is Family Care Network's 16th Annual 10K Walk/Run from Morro Rock to Cayucos Pier. This year it is taking place on Saturday, May 9th. This is our largest fundraising event, and we are hoping to raise over $150,000 to help children and families in our community. We are looking for over 300 volunteers to create a successful event that will support the needs of children and families in our local community. We can use volunteers on race day for set up & decor, assisting the runners throughout the course, handing out t-shirts or water throughout the course or at the post-race party, or just cheering them on! This year we are extremely focused on making Miracle Miles for Kids a community event and would love to have you involved to help us raise money for local children and families in need. Description
The Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) is a private, nonprofit children and families services provider. Established in 1987 for the purpose of creating family-based treatment programs as an alternative to group home or institutional care for children and youth, the agency now operates multiple, accredited programs designed to strengthen and preserve families and individuals. In the agency's 34 year history, we have grown to serve over 2,000 children, youth and families annually in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. FCNI values intergrity, accountability, program fidelity and outcome-based services, and is accredited by the California Alliance of Child and Family Services. At the Family Care Network, we have many opportunities for individuals, businesses and organizations to partner with us to help accomplish our mission. Partnership opportunities include: becoming a foster parent, career mentor, intern, event volunteer, or event sponsor for one of FCNI's annual fundraising events: Be the Difference, Benefit for Kids and Give Joy for the holidays. - Orientation or Training
- Shifts are about 4 hours long. Must arrive 15 min before start of shift for training, and stay 30 min after shift for clean-up.
- If a volunteer is under 18 years of age, they must be chaperoned by an individual who is at least 21 years of age or older. One individual is allowed to chaperone a maximum of five minors.
