This volunteer opportunity provides you with the experience to serve those in your community.
Volunteers can share laughter, tears, life stories, and a compassionate presence to those under our care at Pathways to Compassion Hospice.
Volunteers can provided companionship, friendship, respite, and many other kinds of socialization!
Do you have a dog?
We need volunteers to work with our Pet Partners program where both you and your furry friends can bring joy and companionship to patients!
Do you have a special talent?
We need volunteers gifted in music, reiki, message therapy, cosmetology to bring their talents to our patients!
Are you a Veteran?
We are in need of Veterans and/or active military volunteers to provide companionship to the many Veteran patients in the Omaha area that have given so much to this country!

Mission Statement
To affirm life during its final stages by providing holistic compassionate care to patients and their families; by providing access to hospice care for underserved or difficult to serve populations; by wise and efficient use of available resources, and by educating the community.
Description
We care for terminally ill patients with a wide range of illnesses including cancer, advanced cardiac disorders, advanced neurological disorders, AIDS, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), multiple sclerosis and any end-stage disease.
Pathways to Compassion Hospice will tailor a comprehensive program designed to meet the individual needs of the residents, families and caregivers in the assisted living. Recognizing the unique requirements in this environment, Pathways to Compassion will work with the facility to design a program that works for you.

- Orientation or Training
- At the beginning of volunteering for Pathways to Compassion Hospice their is an Orientation (1 hour) and Training (2 hours) Then we ask that volunteers can visit with patients once a week for 1-2 hours. There is mandatory annual training (1 hour)
- We require all volunteer to get a PPD screening (provided by Pathways to Compassion Hospice) and a Health Clearance Statement signed by your physician.
