We have two kilns at two different clubs. One is located at Blazers Club on MLK and the other is at the Rockwood Club in Gresham.
We are looking for volunteers skilled in the operation of a kiln who is able to safely help youth complete ceramics projects. Skill with ceramics is a plus. Ceramics and art can be a wonderful tool for expression. It is our hope that with the help of a kiln/ceramics volunteer we can provide a horizon broadening experience to our youth.
As a note, the Blazers kiln has not been operated in some time, and is in need of inspection before operation.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area is a youth development organization for kids from 6-18 years of age. We have five Clubs in the greater Portland Metro area, as well as school-based extensions in the Reynolds and N. Clackamas School Districts. We serve over 8,000 kids annually with after-school and summer programs.

- We ask that all volunteers that intend to spend time with our youth, to commit one day a week for at least 10 weeks. It takes time to cultivate meaningful relationships. That is why we have this requirement.
