Read to Hospice Patients (Westlake Ohio)
Do you love to read? Do you want to make a positive difference in our community? Why not become a hospice volunteer and share your love of reading with one of our patients? Brookdale Hospice is looking for someone like you who loves to read and can share some time and talent with one of our special residents. You get specialized hospice training from our staff and get to make someone's life a little better-- both your life and their life. Serious inquiries only: must pass background check, drug screen and complete a two-step TB test. Description
The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.
Volunteers are an important part of our hospice team, filling roles that include direct contact with patients and clerical support. Medicare requires the utilization of volunteers alongside paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. We value our volunteers greatly.
