The Balloon Museum is recruiting volunteers to regularly help with our weekly early childhood education program, Stories in the Sky (SITS)!

Every Wednesday, the Balloon Museum hosts two sessions of stories, music, games, crafts, and more for young children, families, and school groups.

No special training is required - on the job training will be provided as needed for the following volunteer positions:

- Stories in the Sky Crew: Assist with setup and cleanup, help with craft and play stations, welcome guests, and contribute to a warm, friendly, fun environment for kids and adults.

- Stories in the Sky Greeter: Welcome guests, provide basic information and answer questions about the program and museum, assist children and adults with name tags.

SITS Volunteers must be part of the Year-Round Volunteer program at the Balloon Museum. To apply to the program and complete the mandatory City of Albuquerque background check, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Zulevi at rzulevi@cabq.gov. You may also complete the Volunteer Application here. After completing the application and background check, prospective volunteers must attend a 2-hour Year-Round Volunteer Orientation prior to working their first volunteer shift.

Year-Round Volunteers are eligible to support Stories in the Sky, to assist during special events and the Museum, and to work as a Shoppe Assistant. Further training is provided for volunteers who are interested to take on the role of 4-D Theater Usher, Greeter, Field Trip Volunteer or Docent.
