Special Event Research Project Intern
Neighbors, Inc. is a basic needs nonprofit providing emergency services to over 600 families in northern Dakota County each month. The Special Event Research Project Intern will work directly with the Marketing & Events Manager to research and prepare for the upcoming 50 th anniversary milestone celebration for Neighbors. This is a great opportunity for students interested in event management, history and/or marketing to gain firsthand knowledge and hands-on experience in the field.
Key Activities
- Historical archive research - sort through a collection of historical artifacts to organize, categorize and preserve; may include research conducted with the Minnesota Historical Society
- Data and artifact intake campaign - solicit historical items from community resources, former and current staff and volunteers
- Opportunity to summarize and write content for items that will be used during the anniversary celebration which could include event posters, blog posts, social media posts, press releases, newsletter stories and more
- Complete any necessary paperwork to apply for official proclamations
- Conduct interviews with key Neighbors influencers (may include video)
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to be professional, personable and respectful to people from a variety of backgrounds
- Must be able to work both independently and in a highly collaborative atmosphere
- General knowledge and passion for Neighbors’ services, mission and core values
- Must pass a criminal history and reference check prior to acceptance
