If you can be patient and positive with a child as they work on literacy activities, we'd love to have you volunteer with us. The only other requirement is that you have good sound discrimination, the ability to hear the letter differences in letter and word sounds. For 12 weeks, 3 hours a day, we need volunteers to help the students complete a reading intervention program. These students are rising 4th - 6th graders who are having trouble learning to read. Our volunteers help them with the reading program, supplemental activities, and nutrition education. Coaches will work directly under the supervision of the Program Director, with 2-3 students at a time. Visit https://www.provisionfes.org/360summer for more information on this program.
