Passionate about People? Help Adults Develop Life Skills
You can make a real difference in the lives of homeless and low-income individuals who are ready, willing, and able to find employment and get on a pathway to self-sufficiency.
As a Chrysalis volunteer, you will work directly with men and women as they prepare for, find, and retain employment. By providing job skills training, support, and positive energy, you will empower men and women to overcome barriers to employment and achieve their personal and professional goals. You will play a part in helping more than 2,000 individuals secure employment this year, setting them up with the tools to succeed in the job market for the rest of their lives!
Volunteers help support the Chrysalis program in many ways, including:
- Class facilitation
- Professional resume writing
- Interview practice
- Help with computers and online job applications
- Donation sorting
you must be over the age of 18 and able to volunteer during Chrysalis’ business hours (Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.). We have weekly, biweekly, and monthly volunteer opportunities available.
Volunteering with Chrysalis provides an extremely rewarding experience. If you are passionate, outgoing, and interested in contributing to our mission, this might be a great fit for you! Thank you so much, and we hope to hear from you soon!

To create a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to prepare for, find, and retain employment.
Chrysalis volunteers play an integral role in our clients' success and provide direct services. They facilitate job readiness classes, provide support for filling out online job applications, organize our resource rooms, prepare resumes and help clients practice their interview skills. For ongoing volunteer opportunities, Chrysalis volunteers will be required to submit a brief online application, attend an informational session (held monthly at each site), receive training and ongoing evaluation, agree to confidentiality terms, and commit to 2 consecutive hours on a weekly or biweekly basis. Volunteer hours are between 8am-12pm or 1pm-4pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-12pm on Fridays.
