Transporters needed to bring cats/kittens to our vets in Medford, NY and Ridge, NY and also take cats to their new adopters or foster homes. Must be at least 18 years of age with valid driver's licence and clean driving record. Must be able to lift carriers and or traps with cats or kittens. Must be kind to animals and careful to keep them safe and secure. Drop off and pickup to the vet range from Riverhead to Northport/Huntington. Common routes are Riverhead to Medford and back, or Setauket to Medford and back but it varies. Must be responsible. Flexibility is helpful as there is no set schedule. Must listen to instructions from vet and be able to communicate any instructions accurately to fosters and rescue administration. Positive attitude and a big heart go a long way! This is a non-paid volunteer position for a 501c not for profit. If you love kitties and want to make a difference in bettering their lives, please contact us!

Mission Statement

To Protect Animals who can not help themselves, by using "Trap, Neuter, and Return" (TNR) and advocating for abandoned, stray and feral animals (mainly cats)-while promoting education to the public in animal rescue and land preservation in the Long Island area. This includes fostering and finding a safe secure forever homes for cats in need.

Description

We are a small 501C Not-For-Profit organization made up of educators, activists, long time rescue people and locals that strive to protect and assist animals through TNR (trap, neuter, release), dog and cat rescue and rehabilitation, saving animals from high kill shelters from around the New York Metropolitan area and helping to protect and preserve Long Island's North and South Fork's land and Wildlife. We are a volunteer only group whose mission extends to advocacy and education from the very young to the very young at heart promoting our love of animals and our home (Long Island). We assist when we can and however possible. We show compassion to all and are a cross curricular/cross generational group that fosters altruism and tenacity.
