A direct patient volunteer serves as a friend/companion to hospice patients and families. Volunteers work in conjunction with the hospice team to provide appropriate support services. Volunteers provide regular companionship to patients, providing family members with appropriate respite. Many of our volunteers enjoy engaging patients in conversation, playing card games, sharing mutual hobbies, and so much more.

Our volunteers are trained in many settings including a patient's home, nursing facility, and assisted living facility.

Volunteers would need to be able to attend training at our Pottstown office and our Berks office in Wyomissing. However, volunteers would serve the Pottstown community as well as the greater Montgomery and Chester County areas.
