The Office of the President & CEO volunteer will support the President’s team at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in administrative duties. In addition, the Volunteer will learn more about how a President’s department operates at a non-profit organization and gain additional insight to the framework of an internationally renowned cultural institution.

The volunteer will be an integral part of the President’s office team and will assist with ensuring the accuracy of documents, preparation for meetings, and conducting research as requested.

Duties include:

  • General clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and mailing.
  • Reviewing specific sections of our website to ensure it is up to date.
  • Assisting with preparation of welcome kits, meeting materials, and online / offline files.
We recommend you serve 4-8 hours per week. This role is based in our administrative office; shift options will be Monday-Friday, between 9am-5pm.

We are looking for volunteers with experience copyediting and using Microsoft Office suite.

Remember and honor the thousands of innocent men, women, and children murdered by terrorists in the horrific attacks of February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001.

Description

The 9/11 Memorial is located at the site of the former World Trade Center complex in lower Manhattan, and occupies approximately half of the 16-acre site. The 9/11 Memorial features two enormous waterfalls and reflecting pools, each about an acre in size, set within the footprints of the Twin Towers.

The National September 11 Memorial Museum is the country’s principal institution concerned with exploring the implications of the events of 9/11, documenting the impact of those events and exploring 9/11’s continuing significance. Located at the bedrock/foundation level of the Twin Towers, the Museum is a moving tribute to the events of September 11 th .
