Please visit the new page to apply.
Camp Kesem Miami is looking for FOUR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS to join their summer camp team!
Our chapter, one of 116 Camp Kesem chapters across the United States, offers a free week-long camp for kids affected by their parent’s cancer. Camp is cost-free to families, and the camp is planned, executed, and staffed by passionate college student volunteers from the University of Miami. This year, Camp Kesem Miami will be held at Camp Geneva, 36540 Vía Marcia, Fruitland Park, FL 34731. We provide transportation to and from the campsite.
Camp Kesem Miami will be hosting two different sessions during the summer of 2019:
Week 1: August 3-9, 2019
Week 2: August 11-17, 2019
As mental health professional you will be responsible for directing campers and counselors on various issues. Some of these issues are behavioral but others may tie to home situations or bereavement. You must have a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, School Counseling, or a related Mental Health field.
The MHP provides multiple layers of support as needed to campers, their families, counselors, and other staff at camp, most of which is focused on emotional and behavioral needs that emerge. The MHP works as part of the Health & Wellness Team (potentially another mental health professional, at least 2 nurses, and one Camp Advisor) and reports to the Program Director (full-time Camp Kesem staff who will visit camp), Camp Advisor (point-person at camp), and Hotline Operators (who will provide assistance remotely).
All potential candidates will undergo a background check and interview process.
If you are interested, please reply to this ad with your resume.
