Every day 7 people die in home fires and the Red Cross wants to do everything we can to prevent these needless tragedies. Volunteer participants work alongside fire departments and other local groups, canvassing at-risk neighborhoods to install free smoke alarms, replace batteries in existing alarms, educate families about fire prevention and safety, and fund raise to help sponsor this life-saving mission. One day of your life can change someone's life forever.
Join us as we meet at the chapter and go out in teams to install smoke alarms. Volunteers will be going out in teams and will be trained that day. All supplies will be provided. Further details to follow. Event will be held rain or shine.

We're in local communities every day, helping people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. When emergencies strike, people need help. A fire leaves a family homeless. A heart attack threatens a life. A tornado flattens homes, schools and businesses. A military family needs to be connected. A young child needs a blood transfusion. They need the Red Cross.
How do we empower so many of our neighbors to respond to emergencies? By mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We can't turn heartbreak into hope without your help!
