My name is Tara Jasinski and I am the Regional Manager for Greenheart Exchange, a nonprofit student organization dedicated to creating global leaders by facilitating cultural exchange and service learning opportunities for international students and professionals. We would be interested in placing some of our international volunteer participants with your organization; they typically come for 3 - 4 weeks during the summer, but we also have volunteers at other times throughout the year for periods of between 2 and 8 weeks.
We work with international partners to properly vet our participants and ensure they have the right motivation and interest for our program. Our participants are typically aged 15-18 and do a variety of tasks appropriate to their age and interests. (Note: we do receive some volunteers over 18 as well.) They are expected to volunteer at least 5 hours a week, although most of our participants are interested in volunteering between 10 and 20 hours per week.
While volunteering, participants interact with other volunteers and have the opportunity to see and experience the direct impact of their support. They also learn about American culture by staying with American host families and engaging with their host community.
