VIDA (Volunteers in Defense of Animals)

We are in need of 3-5 volunteer coordinators who can help respond to emails relating to volunteers, group volunteers, give orientations, and help us manage our volunteer program! You will receive guidance from one of our manager / board members who heads the volunteer program, but we need extra hands!

Your responsibilities will include responding to volunteer emails, keeping volunteers dedicated, enforcing rules, keeping track of volunteers and programs, giving orientations, and hosting events like dog washes and dog walks.

There is no age limitation for this, but we are looking for mature, dedicated, hard-working, proactive, and sociable individuals. We will have a review process so we can get to know you better and see how fit you'll be for this task! Being a volunteer coordinator is extremely rewarding because you'll be able to see the work you can accomplish-both bettering the lives of volunteers and animals.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue

Description

Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.

We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
