A student delegation of 14 teenagers ages 15-17, from Mexico will be in the Triangle area for a Youth Leadership Conference, July 20 - August 1, 2019. The conference is under the auspices of the U.S.A. Department of State, Ministry of Education of Mexico, World Learning and International Focus, Inc.
The objective of the program is to promote mutual understanding between people of the USA and Mexico by promoting interaction with peers and families, service learning activities at universities and other facilities, and the creation of a service project to implement upon returning to Mexico. They will also participate in cultural outings, social gatherings and recreational activities. Thus, we hope to inspire and create a new generation of globally-minded leaders.
The students represent the best and brightest youth of Mexico.
We are in need of families to host our guests (1-2 / household) for all or part of the duration of their visit. Host families would be expected to provide; breakfast and dinner daily, a place to sleep and weekday transportation to and from a designated location, probably near Whole Foods, Wade Ave., Raleigh and/or Cary Towne Centre in Cary. Host families are free to entertain their guests as they please, for the weekends during their visit.
Host families and host siblings are welcome to participate in all the activities (meetings, trainings, cultural outings)

Description
International Focus supports multiculturalism and international exchange through the International Visitors' Leadership Programs, the Community Connections Programs, and the Open World Programs. International Focus also promotes diversity via its newsletters, collaborations, workshops, resources, and its flagship event, the International Festival of Raleigh, considered to be a key component of the Triangle’s cultural and artistic offerings. The event showcases music, dance, cuisine, art, and cultural education from 55 diverse cultures, and welcomes 30,000 visitors annually.
We continue to welcome new ethnic communities to our network as the Triangle’s population expands; and we are honored to be the area’s pivotal connector for cross-cultural understanding and respect.

- One to two weeks. You will need to provide breakfast, beds and bathroom. Ideally, 2 students per home. Other children in the home is beneficial, but not necessary. All students are fluent in English.
- You will need to drop off in the morning , and pick up in the evening, at an agreed upon convenient location, your students for their daily activities. Weekends are up to you as to how you want to " entertain" your guests.
