June 19, 9 am - 11:30 am-Biological water sampling at Dudley Woods

Meet at Dudley Woods Park, 5591 Hankins Rd, Liberty Township. Don't get this confused with the Dudley Memorial Park on Yankee Rd

Learn how to conduct a biological sample of a stream. We will learn about the various macroinivertebrates that live under water, and how they can be used to tell water quality. Then we will get in the creek to collect a sample and identify the creatures to assess that water.

After attending this class, you can then volunteer to go out to collect data from other creeks in Butler County. Sampling materials will be provided. Can be conducted anytime May - October, as long as creek conditions are safe.

We will be knee deep in the water, so wear shoes that can get wet. If you were reading glasses, please bring them for when we identify the "bugs."

Ages: Teens and adults. At noon, we are holding a children's creek program at this same location if younger children are interested.

COVID - we are limiting attendees to 10.
