Grow More is seeking students with an interest in applying biotechnology to solve real-world agricultural problems. Your aim will be to independently design experiments. You will research and defend plant genetic traits that could have significant impact. This internship will focus heavily on reading, discussing and presenting scientific literature with a team of like-minded peers. Though you will work independently, you are expected to be an active, communicative and contributing member of the team. Applicants must have a demonstrated history and experience in biotechnology and/or molecular biology.
Join in weekly zoom meetings to present project updates
Present and discuss in bimonthly journal club
Join weekly interactive peer-group working sessions
Present your project to be externally reviewed at the end of the semester
Submit your report at the end of the semester
A minimum of 6 hours per week is required. If interested in applying for this internship, please send your resume (CV) and provide the following:
1. 1 peer-reviewed research article published in 2021 on plant biotechnology being applied to agriculture that you found interesting and briefly explain why it is important.
2. 1 PowerPoint slide that summarizes a project from your previous biotechnology / molecular biology lab experience.
3. Provide the link/web URL of a genome browser you are familiar with and how you last utilized it.
4. Briefly explain why this internship is important to you.
