St. Vrain Habitat would like to invite individuals and groups of 15-20 volunteers in April to interview residents about their neighborhood help us complete property and block observations. Training and t-shirts will be provided.

Habitat for Humanity International launched this effort to study the health and quality-of-life impact of neighborhood revitalization approach that puts residents in the driver seat, with a focus on 10 neighborhoods across America, The Glens being one of them. Several national partners are supporting the study across the country.

Your partnership will help The Pride of the Glens collect data on the quality of life of residents in the neighborhood, as well as test Habitat’s Quality of Life framework.

Volunteers will survey in pairs using their own smart phones or tablets to access the surveys. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus! We will interview about 300 residents and 100 properties throughout April to learn from and inform the efforts of the Pride of The Glens Coalition and Neighborhood Revitalization to improve quality of life in The Glens neighborhood of Dacono.

Data from surveys will be used to:

  • Refine future iterations based on co-learning
  • Neighborhood planning
  • Share with community, donor, partners
  • Share with the community, donor, partners for neighborhood planning
  • Determine the impact of the quality of life framework
  • Establish a baseline evaluation for year 3 and year 5 surveys

About St. Vrain Habitat

Location:

P.O. Box 333, 303 Atwood St, Longmont, CO 80501, US

Mission Statement

Since 1988, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley has been building simple, decent, affordable homes for those in need throughout our community. The mission of Habitat for Humanity is "to put God’s love into action, bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope."

Description

Based in Longmont, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley has built 72 homes locally and 130 internationally. Our homes are sold to qualified family partners at cost with a no-profit mortgage. As homeowners repay their mortgage, the funds are invested into building more homes for deserving families. We select homeowner families based on their need for adequate shelter, their ability to pay for a Habitat home, and their willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity, including taking financial and homeownership classes. All homeowners contribute "sweat equity"; they work in partnership with the affiliate and other volunteers, contributing up to 500 hours of volunteer service.
