INVESTMENT PROCESS FOR UNITED WAY OF GREATER NASHUA
The Community Investment Review Panel is an exciting and influential volunteer opportunity open to all United Way donors.
During an open investment review cycle, United Way volunteers review proposals, and meet with nonprofit grant applicants to gain further information and perspective on the specific programming. These panel reviews will be led by a member of the Committee. Panels make recommendations for grant awards to United Way Board of Directors.
What Investment Panel Volunteers Do
* Serve with other local community members focused on a core investment priority categories of Health, Education or Economic Mobility.
* Attend orientation about United Way and the investment process
* Study the program proposals of non-profit agencies participating in United Way's Community Investment process.
* Make funding recommendations to the United Way Board of Directors
* Help make United Way accountable to its donors
* Work to guarantee the money raised in our communities is used effectively and efficiently meeting priority human service needs of our communities
Helpful Experience:
* Interest in your community and region
* Enjoy reading about community services
* Interest in the delivery of health and social services
* Knowledge of budgeting and finances is valuable, but not necessary Time Commitment:
* Participation in 5 to 6 meetings from April through July scheduled before or after business hours.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 22
- This commitment is ongoing for 3 years. The first year is the most intensive. Each volunteer will be expected to review and study up to approximately 12-15 program proposals within an impact area of health, education, or economic mobility.
- They will participate in 5-6 meetings that will last approximately 2.5 hours including about 3 Q & A sessions with the prospective grant recipients, and up to 3 meetings determining grant recommendations to the board.
