ORGANIZATION: Hosparus Health

Hosparus Health of Barren River needs volunteers in Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson and Warren counties and will offer a free orientation and training session from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CST on Monday, March 18 (lunch provided), at its Bowling Green office, 101 Riverwood Ave.

Hosparus Health provides hospice and palliative care to seriously ill patients and their families. Volunteers perform a variety of duties, which may include patient/family support, administrative support, help with community events and fundraising. Hosparus Health volunteers must be in good health, have available transportation and complete an application and full day of training. The organization needs volunteers of all ages and interests.

Our services are available to patients of all ages. Through our Kourageous Kids, program, one of the first pediatric palliative and hospice program in the country, we care for seriously ill children and their families. And as a fully accredited nonprofit organization, our services are available to any patient who needs us, regardless of their ability to pay.
