Challenge Walk MS: St. Louis is a 2-day 50k walking event that will take you farther than you’ve gone before. The success of Challenge Walk MS depends on volunteers! Each volunteer's contribution, large or small, is critical to the event's success, volunteers provide key support to Challenge Walk MS.


Volunteer Opportunity Needs:

Rest Stops: Setting up/taking down the site, running hydration/fruit stations, serving food and beverages to participants, providing excellent customer service. (Occasional lifting may be required).

Photographers: Say cheese! You will be tasked with capturing team photos, start & finish line, participants along the route and overall photo ops throughout the event. Volunteer must own a digital camera and be able to submit photos to the office.

Set Up/Tear Down: Cleaning up the event site, taking down decorations, signage and banners, breaking down tents, tables, and chairs, organizing and loading supplies. Help move some supplies to the pre-finish location and setting up chairs, sound system, and more!

Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services for people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and nationwide network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking volunteers to the MS cause is the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers four key fund-raising activities:

  • Bike MS
  • Walk MS

The Society also engages volunteers to help influence lawmakers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people living with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as:

  • Marketing/Communications
  • Public relations
  • Corporate and donor development
  • Medical, legal, administrative.
