Care for Friends is currently looking to recruit a team leader for our Thursday food service, to cover periodically throughout 2018. If you have strong leadership skills, enjoy working with an instructing a team, and are searching for a tight-knit community of good people, this opportunity is for you!

Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday morning, Care for Friends serves a healthy, delicious meal to up to 100 homeless people. We pride ourselves on serving high quality food, and to provide an enjoyable experience for both our guests and our volunteers.

The role of team leader includes creating a menu the day of service, knowing the safety standards of the kitchen and pantry, and being able to instruct cooking preparations for a large group of people. Volunteers meet the team leader at 9am and start cooking to serve the food to our guests at 12pm, finishing at 1pm. This is a fun and safe environment. The team leader will manage the volunteers on the day, of which there are usually up to ten.

The team leader must have previous experience working in food service, and ideally of leading teams. You must be available periodically in the mornings. For interested applicants, there will definitely be the opportunity to volunteer at Care for Friends food before taking on the responsibility of team leadership.
