Energy Savings Evaluator - Researcher (internship available)

Evaluate the energy savings on client’s homes that that were weatherized in 2016 and 2017. Compile current energy consumption from the utility company and compare consumption numbers and the energy conservation measures performed on the house, to determine cost effectiveness and energy measure savings. Survey the clients and write a report detailing the results. Weatherization may have included adding insulation, air-sealing, cleaning or replacing furnace/boiler/water heater, and replacing the refrigerator.

Mentorship Provided By: Energy Conservation Specialist
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Compile list of clients, obtain data, accurately enter information into database and calculate the data;
Based upon the data create informatics (charts, graphs, etc) and write a report describing the quantitative results;
May need to create a survey for follow-up with specific clients and enter their response as the qualitative section of the report;
Write a final report with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Requirements:
Microsoft Office Suite skills and must possess knowledge of Excel spreadsheet including calculations and formulas; Ability to use a calculator;
Familiarity with conducting surveys and writing statistical reports (qualitative and quantitative), completed at least one college-level course focused on research methodology;
Familiarity with databases such as Front Ends and Access;
Telephone skills (may conduct survey questions with clients via the phone);
Must be comfortable interacting with individuals from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds;
Fluency in English language required. Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Karen language skills desired but not required;
If seeking an internship for credit or experience you must be enrolled in a college or technical training program in a related field;
Complete a timesheet on a monthly basis;
Pass a background check and age 18+

Regular office environment.
Time Commitment:
4+ hours per week for 3+ months, semester or summer-term. Office hours are available weekdays M-F 8:00 AM 4:30 PM.
