No need to travel abroad to serve, join us instead for our second At Home Humanitarian Welcome Weekend! Welcome Weekend is a community retreat held to build support for refugee, immigrant, and asylee families and individuals.
The next Welcome Weekend will take place in Boulder Creek, California at Camp Hammer over Memorial Day Weekend, 2019. Your role as a volunteer will be to help our refugee clients feel welcome, guide them throughout the camp, activities, and workshops, and just be there as a friend. Beyond the weekend, we hope you will remain in contact with the attendees and seek to support them in their continued resettlement journey.
The retreat is similar to a humanitarian trip only it is local. We ask for you to cover your costs of the weekend, plus a little of the costs of the refugee attendees. $200/adult or $150/children and teens (3-16) covers delicious food, lodging, and fun activities (hiking, zip line, rock climbing, canoeing, swimming, etc.) for the entire Memorial Day weekend. Families are welcome!
Check out our FAQ's page for additional information - https://www.athomehumanitarian.org/faq-s.html

Space for non-refugee attendees is extremely limited.
