Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County is holding educational hands-on workshops for residents of the county on tree maintenance. By learning to identify and perform structural and hazard pruning on young trees, homeowners can guide their trees to a strong and healthy future. Volunteers practice their skills on trees in different municipalities throughout the county to support beautifying our neighborhoods.
Following the initial training sessions, weekly pruning projects and educational workshops continue through the season. Workshops this year include a Tree ID tour at Oakwood Cemetery, touring a tree nursery, learning about the American Chestnut project at ESF, and many more!
