Volunteer with Heartland Tree Alliance to plant street trees in the Amber Meadows neighborhood near I 35 and 291 highway, north of the river in Kansas City, Missouri. These trees will shade the street and sidewalk, provide stormwater retention and pollutant filtration from the air and water. They will also provide numerous benefits to the community, including: increasing property values, reducing crime rates and even slowing traffic.
No prior tree planting experience is necessary. Tools and equipment will be provided. Min age: 14, with adult supervision. Ages 14 - 16 must be accompanied by an adult, volunteering alongside them. Volunteers less than 18 must have parental co-signature on waiver.
All volunteers must register in advance by completing online registration. Go to this page: https://www.tfaforms.com/4725826 for more details and to register. Immediately after registering, each individual will receive an auto-email confirmation with more details.
Do you have a group or additional questions? Contact Sarah, Heartland Tree Alliance Program Manager, at sarah.crowder@bridgingthegap.org or 816-561-1086.
