ORGANIZATION: The Arc of the Capital Area

  • 1 person is interested

The Arc of the Capital Area offers Education Programs for adults with disabilities. We are in need of 1-2 volunteers to help ensure safety in our pick up/drop off area in front of our building. Ideally we will have one Safety Guard come every morning, 8:30-9:30am, and another one come in the afternoons, 1:45-2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

The Safety Guard's two main goals are safety and helping traffic flow.
They will put out traffic cones we provide to create a drop off lane. They will also use a walkie-talkie at pick up to let instructors know which students are being picked up.
The Safety Guards will also escort students between their cars and the building and encourage pedestrians to make safe choices when crossing the street.
